Community Resilience
Our team members are passionate about community and disaster resilience work. Resilience can be thought of from many different perspectives, including personal, social, ecological and economic resilience. Social networks are a key element of building community resilience, as is building community capabilities through programs that raise awareness, knowledge and understanding.
CDM Smith team members have worked on strategies to improve community resilience to natural hazard events, but resilience frameworks can be utilised to develop strategies for much broader community issues.
CDM Smith partner with our water and environmental scientists and engineers to deliver community resilience elements of broader natural hazard projects, such as flood modelling and environmental management. Our economists can also assist in developing regional economic strategies that support community resilience.
