Gregory Wetterau, PE, BCEE
Advanced treatment and desalination expert Greg Wetterau is a senior environmental engineer who has been involved with piloting, design and start-up for more than 70 membrane treatment facilities around the world. His expertise in process and system design of desalination and advanced wastewater treatment has helped clients incorporate desalination into their water supply portfolios and successfully implement water reuse as a new alternative for supply, all while complying with evolving and developing regulations. With roles on the boards of directors for the American Membrane Technology Association and the International Desalination Association, he has proven the value of his unconventional approach to water supply.
What do our clients value most about working with us? I would say trust is the most important factor: trust that we'll be there for them, trust that we understand the issues they're dealing with, and trust that we will always work out a solution that is effective, reliable, and affordable for them.
What does it mean to you that CDM Smith is a privately owned company? Being privately owned means that we control our own destiny. We can make decisions based on the values of our employees and the long term goals of our company rather than focusing on short-term returns for outside investors. It means we will remain competitive in the areas that matter most to us.
What’s something you enjoy doing on your day off? Taking a long hike in the mountains with my wife and kids.
What’s your personal motto? Life’s worth is measured in the things we’ve given up more than the things we’ve kept.
I joined CDM Smith because of the great projects, but I’ve stayed because of the great people.
