Christiane Jung

Christiane Jung has a master's degree in geoecology and works as a business development manager at CDM Smith. Based in Germany, she has experience working with clients and on numerous projects across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. She has a broad multi-national experience in the fields of Environmental Due Diligence Assessments (EDDA), Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) in the energy sector and linear infrastructure, and soil and groundwater investigation. As some of her human and cultural skills lay in communication and conflict management, she focussed on client management within the business development, internally and externally, including developing of young colleagues. Following her personal motto that you can only grow if you move out of your comfort zone, Christiane Jung likes to try new things, both professionally and in her free time. She likes being active and discovering new places, people or cultures, which is why she enjoys travelling.

What is the best part of your work day? The creative inter­dis­ci­pli­nary work in an international team with different technical and cultural backgrounds. And I also enjoy the coor­di­na­tion and commu­ni­ca­tion with clients, colleagues and subcon­trac­tors.

How might clients describe you? Responsive, reliable and committed.

What does “listen. think. deliver.” mean to you? It means first to listen to the client’s needs throughout all project phases to optimise the process. In a second step, we think out loud and share thoughts with colleagues of inter­dis­ci­pli­nary background to cover all the client’s needs and identify new ones or risks. Last, we deliver a client friendly, succinct and under­stand­able package, breaking it down to what the client really requires. 

In what large project would you like to be involved? In a large project in Israel to take advantage of my country knowledge, contacts and language.
