Jacky Kinson
Part of CDM Smith's multi-disciplinary climate resilience team, mechanical engineer Jacky Kinson brings a passion for sustainability and technical expertise to her work. She was particularly drawn to CDM Smith when “I read an article about a CHP Biogas project that was written by CDM Smith and knew I wanted to work on similarly interesting projects.”
Jacky's favorite part of her job is thinking about projects as a whole and collaborating with different types of engineers to create sound designs. At CDM Smith, she has found a supportive environment where colleagues are willing to share their wealth of knowledge with younger staff, allowing her to continuously learn and grow in her profession.
One of her proudest efforts is the Eversource Geothermal Demonstration project. This groundbreaking project involved evaluating potential sites for implementing a district-level geothermal utility on a pilot project scale, demonstrating the scalability of sustainable geothermal networks and testing the technical feasibility and customer acceptability of geothermal energy as a low-carbon alternative. Jacky found this project both challenging and rewarding, as it was the first of its kind and required close collaboration with colleagues she had not worked with before. ”I felt like I was fulfilling my career goals by working on a project with clean energy and making a positive impact on the world of renewable energy.”
With her passion for sustainability, technical expertise, and collaboration, Jacky is contributing to innovative and environmentally responsible projects that aim to create a better tomorrow.
