Rina N. Dalal, PE

Rina Dalal is an environmental engineer with extensive experience in public education for water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects, risk assessments and climate change studies. 

“I’m motivated by the opportunity to take on projects that make a positive envi­ron­men­tal and social impact,” Rina says. As a member of CDM Smith's multi­dis­ci­pli­nary climate resilience leadership team, she focuses on climate resilience solutions for water reclamation, collab­o­rat­ing with her colleagues to ensure climate risk is understood and resilience is woven in to every project she contributes to.

In her role, Rina has contributed to various engineering studies, regulatory reports, design projects, fieldwork and construc­tion contract admin­is­tra­tion. “I enjoy taking technical information and translating it into non-technical terms for the envi­ron­men­tal projects I work on,” she says. “Effectively commu­ni­cat­ing our work to the public and other stake­hold­ers is becoming a critical component for moving projects forward in our industry.”

Rina is proud to work at CDM Smith because of the firm’s extensive public outreach efforts for construc­tion projects. “We’ve made great strides in educating the public about how water infra­struc­ture projects can revitalize communities,” she says.
