Rose Hanson
Rose Hanson is a strategic communications expert with nearly a decade of experience, creating content for both the water and environment fields. She has championed lead service line inventories and replacement program public engagement across the United States. She’s also led print, virtual, and visual media development for communications campaigns addressing PFAS risk.
“I’m inspired by people who seek and implement feasible, realistic steps that work towards solving our largest challenges. PFAS contamination or the causes and effects of climate change won’t be addressed overnight. Luckily, the people working daily towards forward progress—including many of my CDM Smith peers and our clients—create meaningful change,” Rose says.
Rose has played a key role in the growth of CDM Smith’s strategic communications group, fostering a culture of passion and collaboration within the team since day one. With a focus on understanding her audience, simplifying language and using visuals, she is passionate about helping the relevant community positively engage with so-called “technical” projects.
“My favorite part of my job is helping an intended message resonate with our target audience: 'This is really clear' or 'I understand now, thank you.' With such a broad array of projects, from remediating old landfills to lead service line replacement programs, I am grateful for the opportunity to make an impact in many areas,” she says.
