“Knowing that we are creating something useful and needed for the larger community by building a better trans­porta­tion environment and to be able to see the fruits of our labor constructed and utilized is inspiring to continue to improve and innovate,” says Scott Sandstrom, CDM Smith senior project manager and discipline leader for Complete Corridors. 

Scott has worked on numerous roadway, transit and bridge projects and brings a compre­hen­sive under­stand­ing of client processes and procedures for trans­porta­tion design projects. His project experience with varied clients, both local and state, has ranged from local roads to interstates in both urban and rural settings, as well as bus rapid transit (BRT) projects. And as a hands-on project manager, Scott success­fully coordinates between the different elements of roadway design, including drainage, traffic, envi­ron­men­tal, utility coor­di­na­tion and right-of-way. 

“My favorite part of the job is working with a team from the beginning of a project where we are able to set a vision, working through the problems and solutions throughout the project life, and coming to a successful conclusion with a tangible product for the public to utilize,” he says. “Every project is an opportunity to grow and learn and to work as a team.”
