Sebastian Malter, PE, CC-P
“I am inspired to solve our most challenging environmental problems and work towards making communities more resilient now and in the future,” says Sebastian Malter, a water resources engineer with over a decade of experience.
As a key member of CDM Smith’s multidisciplinary climate resilience team, Sebastian specializes in climate change and climate data services, including climate change resiliency, vulnerability & risk assessments and development of adaptation plans and strategies. His proudest project to date was performing a utility wide climate risk assessment for Loudoun Water in Virginia. By working collaboratively with utility staff and informing the project with their institutional knowledge along the way, our team was able to provide tailored solutions to Loudoun Water’s concerns related to climate risks and impacts.
Sebastian has served as a project manager, technical lead, and expert on several state, municipal, water and climate change adaptation, sustainability, and resiliency-related projects nationally and internationally. His favorite part of the job is “the ability to make a true difference for our clients and the communities they serve.”
Sebastian joined CDM Smith because of the people. “I've worked with many great individuals and teams, and the passion, collaborative spirit, and desire to perform at the highest level and providing the best high-quality products in the market are truly amazing,” he says.
