“I take pride in the quality of my work, I enjoy a good challenge, and I enjoy supporting the growth of others,” says Tom Dzagan, transportation program management discipline leader. Tom brings a wide range of practical experience to his role, as he has served as the contractor, designer, inspector, and owners’ representative for both public and private sector clients throughout his career.
Tom’s expertise encompasses civil/drainage, roadway, bridge, railroad, utility, and facilities work. His knowledge and tactical skills have fortified him as a proactive leader, striving to seamlessly move projects over the finish line. “I enjoy the diversity of the projects our clients ask us to support, the innovative approaches we use to overcome challenges, and seeing projects come to fruition,” he says.
As a certified professional engineer in Connecticut, Tom supported one client in the state to deliver a $20 million municipal complex, including administrative facilities, a library, and a historical society building. In another Nutmeg State endeavor, Tom managed construction for a stormwater infrastructure and streetscape project. He closely monitored project funding compliance with several agencies, and performed constructability and design reviews through unforeseen soil remediation efforts in older industrial areas.
“My proudest projects are generally the ones that give me the most headaches throughout the process. When they're all said and done, knowing I helped fulfill a goal while improving our built environment makes me feel accomplished,” he says.
I take pride in the quality of my work, I enjoy a good challenge, and I enjoy supporting the growth of others.
