Alexa Mahr
Alexa Mahr is a civil engineer specializing in building pollutants and construction site clearance. She has contributed her fast expertise to over 500 projects. In 2011, Alexa Mahr joined CDM Smith as project manager in our Environment/Energy Division and complements our team with her extensive knowledge. She has been involved in exciting projects ranging from exploration to remediation planning as well as specialist construction supervision.
Alexa Mahr‘s most significant projects at CDM Smith include the site clearance for the Patton Barracks in Heidelberg as well as for the former U.S. Hospital in Heidelberg. Looking ahead, she has several significant projects in the pipeline. She will lead the investigation of highway bridges with regards to pollutants and concrete substance as well as building pollutant remediation of historic buildings. Also, projects are being planned to investigate reference buildings for determining demolition procedures and exploring reuse and recycling options for demolition materials in terms of sustainability.
Throughout her career, Alexa Mahr has gained several additional qualifications. She is qualified a coordinator for projects in contaminated areas (DGUV 101-004) and a health and safety coordinator in accordance with the German Construction Site Ordinance (BaustellV). Additionally, she holds expertise in asbestos removal in accordance with TRGS 519.
When asked about her advice to young engineers, she replies: "Stay curious, keep asking questions and benefit from the experience of others. Your questions often help us take a different perspective when looking at things that we take for granted."
