Dr. Karsten Menschner
Applied geophysics is one of the most versatile fields of study according to Karsten Menschner. As a doctor of geophysics, he is an engineering specialist and senior consultant at CDM Smith, focusing on surveying contaminated sites with a view to evaluating and developing innovative remediation solutions. He has also been a board member of the Engineering Association for Redevelopement and Remediation (ITVA) since 2015. In his spare time, he enjoys going out into the great outdoors – whether it be hiking up mountains and volcanoes, through a forest or along the coast, or running a marathon.

We’re happy to keep on placing our confidence in CDM Smith.
What’s something that people might be surprised to know about you? I came close to being a movie star – as a child voiceover actor for Deutsche Film AG (DEFA).
What is the best (or worst) part of your work day? I work on my own initiative, I can organise myself and I’m never bored.
Innovative remediation solutions and complex treatment trains definitely suit me.
