Wolfgang Kissel
As a Senior Project Manager in our Infrastructure and Geotechnical Engineering division, Wolfgang Kissel is an expert in soil studies and foundation consulting. He has been involved in many major projects, such as the construction of Terminal 3 at Germany’s international Airport in Frankfurt am Main and the subway line extension in Frankfurt’s “Europaviertel” district. Currently, Wolfgang Kissel is planning and supervising the construction pit for the FAIR particle accelerator in Darmstadt in Germany. The underground accelerator ring, with a circumference of 1.1 kilometres, will support particle beams of unprecedented intensity and quality, enabling physically unique experiments. Wolfgang Kissel's responsibilities as a geotechnical consultant include designing the foundation, calculating the planned decoupled pile-raft foundation, and ensuring that existing research facilities are not jeopardised.
Wolfgang Kissel particularly values the variety and complexity of his projects at CDM Smith, as they allow him to apply his expertise across a wide range of areas while continually enhancing his skills. He understands the special circumstances that each individual client has. When going about a new project, Wolfgang starts by taking each client’s unique situation and requirements into account, developing a concept exclusively for the client, and embarking on planning and calculations. The aim is to present the results in a clear and well-structured manner, ensuring that clients receive the best possible solution.
We’ll always find a sound solution.
