John Pehrson, PE
John Pehrson is a senior air quality engineer with over 40 years of professional experience. John finds his inspiration by working on “a challenging job, one that throws a curve that requires an innovative solution,” he says.
He has experience with criteria air pollutant, greenhouse gas, and toxic air contaminant emission inventories, air dispersion modeling, health risk assessments, and air quality permitting. He has conducted dispersion modeling for biogas feasibility, wastewater treatment plant, solid waste facility, groundwater and soil remediation, airport development, and marine port development projects.
“While I thoroughly enjoy tackling a challenging air dispersion modeling for large infrastructure projects, for example, at airports or marine ports, my favorite part of coming to work is mentoring the air quality engineers and scientists at CDM Smith - helping each become an expert in the air quality field, he says.”
“I had been working for a large engineering company prior to joining CDM Smith. Shortly after starting at CDM Smith, I discovered that I would have more career opportunities and be able to have much more control over my professional growth here - and have never looked back,” John says about his time with the firm.
I am inspired by challenging jobs—one that throws you a curve that requires an innovative solution.
