Kevin Connors, PMP
Kevin Connors, construction delivery leader, is inspired by "being on the front lines, deeply immersed in a project from the bid stage, to startup and construction and finally handover to the client. I absolutely love solving problems, coaching and mentoring my team and getting the job done. It is rewarding to manage a massive construction project, with 10,000 problems coming at you every day, staying calm, working through them and seeing things progress, step by step."
He has over two decades of construction management and engineering experience across sectors of infrastructure works including military facilities, water/wastewater systems, vertical structures and roads.
Since joining CDM Smith in 2014, Kevin has been a crucial asset to the firm, managing construction portfolios in Israel with USACE and the West Bank with USAID. His work has taken him to sites in Ethiopia, Gambia, Israel, Jordan, Mozambique, Senegal, West Bank and Yemen. "I wanted to work internationally, and CDM Smith offered me the chance to build our overseas construction portfolio," he says.
One of his proudest professional accomplishments was managing an $11 million construction project in Palestine for USAID, involving the rehabilitation of a deep water well, installation of a submersible pump, electro-mechanical equipment, a conveyance system and more. "I led efforts with the manufacturer, engineer and client to streamline a complicated and cumbersome technical review process, reducing the normal back and forth between contractor and engineer by months," he says.
It always amazes me to see what we build- turning a design into reality.
