Mike Thomas, PE

Mike Thomas brings nearly four decades of experience to his role as electrical department manager, supervising personnel responsible for executing electrical power distri­b­u­tion design, equipment procurement and construc­tion drawings for CDM Smith’s industrial projects.

Throughout his career Mike has been involved with electrical power, high- and low-voltage electrical design, substation and trans­mis­sion line engineering, and project management for various industrial, govern­men­tal, commercial, and educational facilities, having completed over 200 projects with CDM Smith.

He is inspired by “learning new things. Every project you work on and every client you work with involves something that you didn’t know before,” he says. Mike’s current respon­si­bil­i­ties involve the supervision of personnel responsible for executing electrical power distri­b­u­tion design, equipment procurement and construc­tion drawings.

“The people that I’ve encountered at CDM Smith are very easy to work with and knowl­edge­able. I’ve been very impressed by everyone I’ve met. You can learn a lot from others in the orga­ni­za­tion,” he says about his time with the firm.
