Virginia (Ginny) Roach, PE, PMP, BCEE

Ginny Roach is a civil and environmental engineer with nearly four decades of experience. She specializes in developing stormwater management strategies and resolving combined sewer overflow and wastewater issues for municipal and private clients throughout the United States.

She is a national leader in green infrastructure planning and design and was a contributing author to WEF’s Green Infrastructure Implementation Manual, as well as WEF’s Design of Urban Runoff Controls Manual of Practice. Over the course of her career, Ginny has been awarded honors like the New England Water Environment Association’s E. Sherman Chase Award and Golden Raindrop Award.

While Ginny has worked on many complex and large-scale projects in over three decades with CDM Smith, she’s perhaps proudest of her work on the Boston Water and Sewer Commission’s South End Flood Reduction Project—a simple yet innovative flap gate solution that resolved a significant flooding problem and continues to do so two decades later.
