I'm inspired by our staff, especially when they challenge me. I love seeing them develop new ideas and solutions,” says senior civil engineer Lisa Sherman. Lisa has nearly three decades of professional experience in traffic and civil engineering.

Lisa is skilled in a wide range of transportation services including intersection improvements, traffic signal design, roadway design, traffic calming, transportation planning, municipal project funding and public facilitation, and she has helped countless New England communities manage their projects from initial design to final delivery while utilizing her extensive experience with intersection improvements to prioritize safety for all modes of transport.

Lisa says the most rewarding part of her job is when a project is finally finished, and local communities are able to enjoy the ease of a new traffic feature. “I love when projects that we’ve designed are built and operating well,” she says.

“I joined CDM Smith because I loved the idea of working on transportation projects within a larger firm that practiced in a number of communities and disciplines. It has always been nice to learn from and be surrounded by experts in other disciplines like the water services division. It adds variety and exposure that I wouldn’t necessary get working for a traditional transportation firm,” she says.
