Zubair Ghafoor

Zubair Ghafoor is an icon of innovation at CDM Smith. He’s an industry veteran who has been with the firm for over 20 years; with a background in transportation planning, he has played a critical role in leading the firm’s efforts to incorporate emerging technologies across a wide variety of practice areas.

Zubair has developed numerous technology solutions for clients and has received several industry awards. He was the primary developer of CDM Smith’s National Interstate Tolling Analysis Tool, which won the International Bridge Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s Toll Excellence Award under private sector innovation. He was also awarded the CDM Smith’s President’s Award for Innovation in 2019. He has been a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers for several decades and is currently a member of ITE’s Data Committee. In his current role with CDM Smith, Zubair is leading efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning across the water, environment, and transportation sectors.
