CDM Smith Donations to Boston CASA, City of Refuge and Water for South Sudan Made Possible by Employee Wellness Program
BOSTON -- CDM Smith donated another round of $50,000 to three charities as part of the firm’s award-winning Wellness Program. $25,000 was donated to Boston CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), $10,000 was donated to City of Refuge and $15,000 was donated to Water for South Sudan.
The firm’s direct donations were made possible by CDM Smith’s Employee Wellness Program and the points earned by employee participants during the fourth quarter of 2022 through programs and activities that support the importance of both physical and mental well-being. Since the Wellness Program’s start in 2017, employee participation has resulted in over $1 million in charitable donations.
Here’s how the donations are making an impact…
Boston CASA
Boston CASA supports and advocates for the best interests of foster children and youth. The organization empowers community members to stand up for a foster child and champion their rights in court. Their mission is to provide every child and youth with a safe and loving family, equitable access to resources and community support and opportunities to thrive. CDM Smith employees’ contribution of $25,000 will help fund Boston CASA’s strategic growth plan to increase the percentage of qualifying youth they are able to help from 15 to 47 over the next 5 years.
City of Refuge
City of Refuge helps individuals and families transition out of crisis. Based in one of Atlanta, Georgia’s most historic and struggling neighborhoods where nearly 40% of the residents live below the Federal Poverty Level, City of Refuge provides community members in need with lifesaving resources. Their programs assist with food, clothing, shelter, job training and placement, housing, healthcare, and education with the mission of providing pathways out of poverty. CDM Smith’s $10,000 donation will benefit City of Refuge’s newly opened men’s campus.
Water for South Sudan
Water for South Sudan (WFSS) empowers communities to develop by implementing water, sanitation, and hygiene programs. Their mission is to deliver sustainable quality-of-life services to and with the people of South Sudan by providing access to clean, safe water and improving sanitation and hygiene practices in this region of need. CDM Smith’s $15,000 donation will help improve the lives of individuals in vulnerable communities in South Sudan.
