Cannon F. Silver, PE, PMP

Cannon Silver, senior envi­ron­men­tal engineer, has three decades of experience in site inves­ti­ga­tions, feasibility studies, technology evaluations, remedial design, construc­tion oversight, remedial system operations, and opti­miza­tion under CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA and state programs.

He has extensive experience serving in engineering and project management roles, as well as interacting with regulators and public stake­hold­ers. Cannon’s areas of technical expertise include innovative groundwater, sediment, and vapor treatment tech­nolo­gies and sustain­abil­ity.

Recently, Cannon has worked on projects advancing the use of permeable reactive barriers to treat cont­a­m­i­nated groundwater and conducting opti­miza­tion evaluations on military bases, demon­strat­ing expertise in the areas of remedial tech­nolo­gies and sustain­abil­ity. He is part of CDM Smith's multi-disci­pli­nary climate resilience leadership team, special­iz­ing in climate resilience solutions for remediation, ensuring that climate risk is understood and climate resilience is incorporated to the extent possible. 

He has also worked to facilitate the cleanup of coastal areas impacted by active sources of excessive nitrates, promoting sustain­abil­ity in the communities where he works. His favorite part of his job is “contribut­ing to a cleaner world.”
