Seth Nehrke, P.E., D. WRE
Water resource engineer Seth Nehrke’s favorite part of his job is “using hydrologic and hydraulic models to develop elegant solutions to complex problems,” he says. “Let's crank up a SWMM model and start solving the world’s flooding problems!”
Aside from his SWMM model expertise and enthusiasm, Seth’s experience spans far and wide, including both urban and rural hydrology and hydraulics, project permitting and permit compliance, stream and ecosystem restoration, low impact development / green infrastructure, resiliency planning, sea level rise evaluations, sediment transport, and erosion and sediment control. He is part of CDM Smith's multi-disciplinary climate resilience leadership program, specializing in climate resilience solutions for water resources. Seth works with his teams to ensure climate risk is understood and climate resilience is incorporated to the extent possible
Seth has worked on hundreds of projects across 23 states and 7 countries, specializing in stream restoration, stormwater management planning, modeling, design, construction, and operations. In addition to designing more than $150M in water resource and stormwater capital improvements, he has additional experience in managing stormwater and runoff at landfills.
“CDM Smith is all about moving the needle, making a difference. The amazing people at CDM Smith truly embrace our collective role as those who solve complex problems to make the world a safer, better place,” he says.
