Kristin Epstein, PE
Kristin Epstein has extensive experience in both environmental engineering and the drinking water industry. She brings a fresh perspective to her role from her decade of service in both board and executive positions for non-profit organizations.
She’s a key Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) compliance expert at CDM Smith, and successfully championed the Trenton Water Works Lead Service Line Inventory and Replacement Program in New Jersey before joining the firm. Kristin’s favorite part of her job is sharing her LCR knowledge with industry professionals, and she’s had the opportunity to present at conferences across the U.S. on EPA and state-specific LCR initiatives, as well as lead service line (LSL) replacement programs.
Her proudest professional accomplishment has been assisting the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection with LSL inventories. “We’re working with utilities that are understaffed and underfunded to help them remove LSLs from the ground while protecting the health of their customers. The communities are historically underserved, and they deserve the expertise that CDM Smith can offer. It makes me feel good to help those who need it most,” she says.
Kristin is currently advising seven (and counting) utilities on LCR and LSL related projects, from Connecticut to North Carolina. As a dedicated steward to public health, Kristin works tirelessly to transform her clients’ water quality while keeping communities safe.
I'm inspired by finding solutions that clients can implement and be proud of.
